It’s at the printers! Phew!
We’re super excited to announce that the album is now at the printers!
Yaaaaaaaaaaay!
It’s felt like the longest journey to get to this point, but we feel so grateful that it’s finally about to become a reality, and we couldn’t have done it without the help of our friends, family and fans. Well … aaaaand Graham Coe (mix maestro) Josh Clark at Get Real Audio (mastering maestro), Old Jet (mic maestros), Synergy Audio (speaker maestros) … and all our guest musicians Toby Shaer, Evan Carson, Archie Churchill-Moss, Graham Coe and Ciaran Algar … basically all of Sam Kelly’s “lost boys” apart from Jamie (coz he’s horrible) … (inside joke … he’s not really … just sickeningly talented …darn … (face plant at the realisation that we should have got Jamie involved too))).
After a year of work on the album, witnessing the shear talent of our amazing guest musicians as they took to work in our makeshift home recording studio, successfully completing our crowd funding campaign in December 2018 (huge HUGE thanks to everyone who supported that), we feel ready to launch it on the world and show you what we do in our spare time!
And it is our spare time, which is why it’s taken us so ruddy long because we have very little of it to go around. For those of you who don’t know, Jon and I both have day jobs, which we are very thankful for (Jon is a sound engineer and I am a graphic designer) but basically, gigs are our ‘down time’. Something we can do together. We love playing and sharing our music, and it will be lovely to finally present ‘Made in the Aker’ to everyone who has been a part of our journey over the past five years. We feel truly humbled by your generosity, your constant kind words and encouragement … and for lending us your ears on many, many occasions. We hope you love the album.
